Nella vita e nelle forme storiche della Chiesa si sono manifestate distorsioni o relativizzazioni del nucleo del cristianesimo, considerate tuttavia indissolubilmente legate alla verità rivelata. Secondo il filosofo e teologo polacco Erich Przywara, queste «eresie intracclesiali» sono in realtà forme diversificate di un unico atteggiamento di fondo: quello che elimina o occulta il mistero dell’agape, intesa come «l’amore che unisce Dio e l’uomo e gli uomini tra di loro»: un amore che si contrappone ad atteggiamenti religiosi che da soli «non sono niente». I frutti di questa unica «eresia» sono lo spiritualismo, l’intellettualismo, l’obbedienza formale e il collettivismo. Queste tentazioni contro l’amore hanno in comune l’intento di introdurre l’agape in una logica umana, in modo da renderla visibile e dominabile.

L’esortazione apostolica postsinodale Amoris laetitia offre molteplici spunti per leggere la complessa realtà del matrimonio e della famiglia nel nostro tempo. Nell’articolo ci si sofferma su alcuni aspetti che possono risultare decisivi per la stabilità e la durata della coppia: l’interesse per una conoscenza profonda di sé e dell’altro, manifestato nel dialogo e nell’ascolto empatico; l’accettazione delle rispettive diversità nella lettura degli eventi; la dimensione istituzionale propria della scelta matrimoniale. A questo proposito si riprendono alcuni contributi, soprattutto di carattere psicologico, sulle differenti dinamiche che scandiscono la vita della coppia nel corso del tempo.

La notizia della morte del critico cinematografico Gian Luigi Rondi, avvenuta il 22 settembre scorso all’età di 94 anni, invita a riprendere in mano il volume dei suoi diari, pubblicato di recente, zeppo di annotazioni sugli avvenimenti vissuti e sui personaggi incontrati. La nostra attenzione si concentra sulla sua testimonianza diretta a proposito dell’origine e dell’elaborazione del film Francesco giullare di Dio, realizzato da Roberto Rossellini in occasione dell’anno santo del 1950. Alla testimonianza di Gian Luigi si unisce quella di suo fratello Brunello, morto nel 1989, che fu assistente di Rossellini nella realizzazione di quel film, interpretato da attori non professionisti e girato in ambienti naturali. Stupisce ancora oggi il rapporto di grande affiatamento che il regista ha saputo stabilire con gli autentici religiosi, che indossano i panni del Poverello e dei suoi primi compagni.
147 LA MEDITAZIONE, VIA PER RIABILITARE I DETENUTI

Agli inizi degli anni Duemila alcune cattedre di diritto penale esaminarono in modo approfondito la riforma del carcere di Tihar a Nuova Delhi, in India, come possibile modello di rieducazione. La riforma, elaborata dalla direttrice Kiran Bedi, si basava su un’idea di carcere «correzionale», «collettivo» e «comunitario», e poneva al centro del modello la meditazione profonda. In soli due anni la recidiva di quel carcere di 10.000 detenuti scese dal 70% al 10%, grazie agli effetti della meditazione, che permetteva ai detenuti di conoscersi interiormente e di comprendere il male compiuto. Al termine del Giubileo della misericordia, la proposta continua a provocare gli Ordinamenti civili a una conversione culturale che includa nel modello rieducativo la dimensione spirituale della persona.

156 BRASILE: LA FINE DI UN’EPOCA

Nell’agosto scorso, Dilma Rousseff è stata destituita dalla presidenza della Repubblica in Brasile. È la fine di un’epoca di riforma sociale. Dopo un periodo di rapido sviluppo e miglioramento economico per le classi più povere sotto la presidenza di Lula, la crisi economica globale ha colpito il Paese. La Rousseff non è riuscita a rilanciare l’economia ed è stata accusata di corruzione. Una grande operazione, Lava Jato, iniziata nel 2014, ha mostrato come Petrobras, compagnia nazionale del petrolio, avesse corrotto gran parte della classe politica, compreso il partito politico di Lula. La Chiesa ha espresso, prima delle Olimpiadi di Rio, la sua grande preoccupazione per questa situazione in Brasile, dove, il 2 ottobre, si sono svolte le elezioni amministrative.

165 LA SINODALITÀ COME CARATTERISTICA ESSENZIALE DELLA CHIESA. Un seminario di esperti (6-9 febbraio 2016)

Nel febbraio scorso, un seminario di esperti ha scandagliato a più livelli l’istituto del Sinodo dei vescovi, che Paolo VI collocava nell’orizzonte di una «Chiesa dell’ascolto». In questa prospettiva, e alla luce dell’esperienza del Sinodo sulla famiglia, l’obiettivo del seminario era quello di riflettere sul piano teologico e pensare a una riforma. L’incontro sembra aver contribuito a superare un infruttuoso aut-aut — del genere «o tutto o niente» — su almeno due questioni: il valore della decisione sinodale e il valore teologico che assumono le istanze sinodali tra la Chiesa locale e la Chiesa universale. Fra le questioni rimaste aperte, quella della relazione tra il vescovo e il Sinodo (e tra vescovo e Concilio); e quella sull’opzione tra «consenso» e «maggioranza» come metodo per raggiungere delle decisioni.

È stata recentemente tradotta in italiano l’intervista radiofonica concessa da Karl Barth sulla musica di Mozart e pubblicata in tedesco già dal 1969. La nota presenta la categoria del gioco così frequentemente utilizzata da Barth e da altri autori per interpretare il prodigio dell’arte mozartiana.

Il film Il Piccolo Principe, che ha portato sullo schermo l’opera della letteratura francese più letta nel mondo, ha richiamato l’attenzione del grande pubblico non solo sul capolavoro di Saint-Exupéry, ma anche sulle vicende personali dell’autore. Rientrano in questo approfondimento diversi epistolari, tra cui le Lettere a mia madre. La corrispondenza con «l’adorata mamma» può considerarsi una sorta di autobiografia di Saint-Exupéry: il «padre» del Piccolo Principe vi si rivela gradualmente. L’epistolario copre la sua vita dai dieci anni fino alla morte, avvenuta in guerra, nel 1944. La madre, una donna eccezionale, disegnatrice e pittrice, aveva conservato le lettere e, dopo la scomparsa del figlio, le ha donate agli Archives de France.

Throughout the life and historical form of the Church, distortion or relativism of Christianity's core have occurred, which are, however, considered inextricably linked to the revealed truth. According to the Polish philosopher and theologian Erich Przywara, these «intra-ecclesiastical heresies» are actually different forms of a single underlying attitude: the one that eliminates or conceals the mystery of agape, understood as «the love that unites God and man and men between each other»: a love that is opposed to religious attitudes, which, if considered singuarly, «are nothing». The fruits of this unique «heresy» are spiritualism, intellectualism, formal obedience and collectivism. These temptations against love share the aim of introducing the agape in human logic, to make it visible and controllable in common.

Amoris laetitia, the post-synodal apostolic exhortation, offers many insights to help interpret the complex reality of marriage and family in our time. In this article, we focus on certain aspects that can be crucial for the stability and durability of the couple: an interest in a deep understanding of ourselves and of the other, manifested in a dialogue and in an empathic listening; the acceptance of diversity in the interpretation of events; the institutional dimension typical of a matrimonial choice. In this regard, this article reports specific contributions, especially of a psychological nature, on different dynamics that mark the life of a couple over the course of time.
131 «THE FLOWERS OF ST.FRANCIS» (1950) a masterpiece by Roberto Rossellini.

On September 22, film critic Gian Luigi Rondi passed away at the age of 94. The news of his death invites us to reconsider his recently published diaries, which are full of annotations on the events which Rondi experienced and the people he met. Our focus is on his direct testimony about the origins and the elaboration of the film The Flowers of St. Francis by Roberto Rossellini released on the occasion of the Holy Year, 1950. Featuring non-professional actors and shot in natural environments, Rondi’s testimony is joined by that of his brother Brunello, who died in 1989, and who was Rossellini's assistant in the making of the movie. The great harmony that the director was able to establish with members of the church, who wore the clothes of St. Francis and of his first companions, amazes us still today.
147 MEDITATION, A WAY TO REHABILITATE PRISONERS

In the first years of the twenty-first century certain university departmental chairs of criminal law examined extensively a reform introduced at the Tihar Jail in New Delhi, India, as a possible model of re-education. The reform, drawn up by director, Kiran Bedi, was based on an idea of «correctional», «collective», and «community» prison, and it placed deep meditation at the center of the model. In just two years recidivism of 10,000 former prisoners fell from 70% to 10%, thanks to the effects of meditation, which helped prisoners know themselves inwardly and to understand the evil they had committed. At the end of the Jubilee of Mercy, the proposal continues to challenge civilian jurisdictions to consider a cultural conversion that includes the spiritual dimension of the person in the rehabilitation model.

In Brazil last August, Dilma Rousseff was removed from the presidency of the Republic. Her impeachment and removal marks the end of an era of social reform. After a period of rapid development and economic improvement for the poorer classes under Lula's presidency, the global economic crisis hit the country. Rousseff failed to revive the economy and has been accused of corruption. A major operation, Lava Jato, which began in 2014, showed that Petrobras, the national oil company, had corrupted much of the political class, including Lula's political party. Before the Rio Olympics, the Church expressed, its grave concern about the situation in Brazil, where, on October 2, the local elections were held.

165 SYNODALITY AS AN ESSENTIAL FEATURE OF THE CHURCH. A seminar of experts (6-9 February, 2016)

Last February, a seminar of experts probed the institution of the Synod of Bishops at multiple levels, which Paul VI placed on the horizon of a «listening Church». From this perspective, and in light of the Synod on the family, the aim of the seminar was to reflect on the theological level and to think about a reform. The meeting seems to have helped to overcome an unsuccessful either-or - of the «all or nothing» – on at least two issues: the value of the synodal decision and the theological value of the synodal instances between the local Church and the Universal Church. Among the questions which have remained open: the relationship between the bishop and the Synod (and between bishop and Council); and that of the option between «consensus» and «majority» as a way of making decisions.

The film The Little Prince, which has brought to the screen the work of the most widely read piece of French literature throughout the world, drew the public attention not only on Saint-Exupéry’s masterpiece, but also on the personal experiences of the author. Several letters are included in this study, including the Letters To His Mother. The correspondence with his «beloved mother» can be considered a sort of autobiography of Saint-Exupéry, where the «father» of the Little Prince gradually reveales himself. The correspondence covers his life from when he was ten years old until his death during the war, in 1944. His mother, an exceptional woman, an illustrator and painter, kept the letters and, after her son’s death, donated them to the Archives de France.

From this perspective, and in light of the Synod on the family, the aim of the seminar was to reflect on the theological level and to think about a reform. The meeting seems to have helped to overcome an unsuccessful either-or - of the «all or nothing» – on at least two issues: the value of the synodal decision and the theological value of the synodal instances between the local Church and the Universal Church. Among the questions which have remained open: the relationship between the bishop and the Synod (and between bishop and Council); and that of the option between «consensus» and «majority» as a way of making decisions.

The film The Little Prince, which has brought to the screen the work of the most widely read piece of French literature throughout the world, drew the public attention not only on Saint-Exupéry’s masterpiece, but also on the personal experiences of the author. Several letters are included in this study, including the Letters To His Mother. The correspondence with his «beloved mother» can be considered a sort of autobiography of Saint-Exupéry, where the «father» of the Little Prince gradually reveales himself. The correspondence covers his life from when he was ten years old until his death during the war, in 1944. His mother, an exceptional woman, an illustrator and painter, kept the letters and, after her son’s death, donated them to the Archives de France.
